I’ve spent my career in and around higher education IT, supporting the people who keep campuses running and helping teams meet needs that never stop evolving. Here’s a look at where I’ve been.
My path into higher education IT started as a student employee at the campus help desk.
I discovered I loved untangling technical problems but, more than that, I loved heping people understand what had gone wrong so it wasn’t so disruptive or upsetting the next time. That instinct, meeting people where they are, has shaped everything since.
Over the years I moved from front-line student support into leadership, ultimately directing an IT Support & Outreach team of eight. Along the way I’ve trained student and professional technicians, led service-delivery and knowledge-management improvements, strengthened IT communications, and helped campuses adapt as their communities’ needs kept changing.
I care about the work that often goes unseen but never goes un-felt: clear communication, thoughtful processes, and having the structure needed so teams can take a breath. That’s what I work on with Strode Initiatives.
